Hyderabad: The first Telugu AI Voice Assistant was launched at the AI Days 2024 workshop, organised by an NGO Swecha in association with the Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (FABA) as a knowledge partner. This launch showcases Swecha’s dedication to technological inclusivity.
The workshop was concluded with a focus on the vast potential of AI (artificial intelligence) across various sectors, particularly life sciences. The two-day event also marked a new chapter with Swecha joining FABA as a startup member.
Swecha is a Hyderabad-based non-profit organisation committed to grow free software movement in Telugu States. Its inclusion in the FABA is meant for societal advancement. This is collaboration between open-source philosophy, life sciences, and healthcare innovation.
This partnership highlights a shared commitment to using technology for social good and building a future where AI fosters global well-being. The workshop explored the impact of AI on fintech, education, and the creative industry.
Dr Sirisha Velampalli, an expert in big data analytics, graph mining and machine learning (ML) research areas, spoke about “Enhancing Education with AI” and explored how ML, natural language processing and computer vision can revolutionise learning experiences.
The life sciences track emerged as a cornerstone, offering a platform for experts to discuss Blockchain in healthcare and the role of AI in drug discovery, personalised medicine, and genomic data analysis. The highlight of the life sciences track was a panel discussion titled “The Rise of AI in BioPharma,” moderated by Dr Ratnakar Palakodeti, Vice President of Healthcare & Lifesciences (Solutions & Offerings) at Persistent.
